  What is Particular Adventure?

This is primarily a gaming blog, whose focus is on creative writing, storytelling and character role playing. It is my intention to give life and voice to the characters whom I embody within a computer game. They are people who have their own thoughts and personalities, who also keep account of their actions and experiences. This is their adventure!

Now, I am a very particular person. I have to do things a certain-certain way or I lose interest or flat out refuse to be involved. Like playing an immersive roleplaying game without keeping a journal. Or watching movies out of order. Or my computer not running a something adequately enough. Or.. you get the picture. When all my conditions are met, I hope to fully enjoy my endeavors as much as I can. 

  The Purpose.

I've always liked to read creative writings and wanted to produce my own. I thought this would be the perfect way to get started. I have been playing a game (Hint: it's my first game journal here) and I am constantly thinking about what I would write once I got back to safety for the evening. It promotes immersion into a game unlike anything else can really do. When you give someone a voice, with their own feelings and thoughts, and you put them into readable words, you've almost given that person a soul in which to relate with. You can feel for them, laugh with them, or share in their sorrows. I really want to write about these unique experiences and what my character is feeling. I want to give him aspirations, and explain his perils and how the affect him. His achievements and goals. I want to provide a completely new element to what I am spending what little free time I have to entertain myself. I do hope that someone finds these little stories a pleasing read. 

  More than just Stories.

My blog has a unique approach in that it has a particular purpose in writing roleplay stories, but includes areas of interest outside of gaming. It is a refection of me, and such, I write and archive all kinds of things. Here you will find some of my favorite subjects that I have written about or that I have found and wanted to share. I love to research and look deeper into things, but I have found that after I do, I lose the information that I have just found and learned. When looking through different sites that give overviews into a particular field, they each have their own views and opinions. From that, I get an idea, but it's not formulated in a way for me to recreate without going back to all the sites that I found the information. This blog gives me the ability to compile information and use it in a way for me and others to refer to, if their interest is mutual. It serves the purpose that I need it to without the need to manage multiple blogs, which I can't be bothered with.

This blog also contains Particular Adventures in:

• Food & Cooking - I really enjoy cooking and learning what foods are healthier and more nutritious than others. Techniques of preparing dishes and the utensils used. I am constantly learning about food, and it's one of the more changing environments to participate in, which means it can be alot of fun!
• Recipes - Sometimes when we cook, my family and I, we come up with new recipes. I can share these ideas here along with some of our favorite recipes we have tried or found on the internet. I use this site as a way to review some of these dishes for others to try.
• Movies - Keeping track of the movies I watch, when, and what I thought about them have been something I have wanted to delve into for a long time. Here, I post about what I have seen with the date that it was watched by me, and whoever else was with me. Also, what we thought of the movie. I really look forward to this section growing and motivating me to watch more movies, even branching into move genres I haven't ventured into yet. 
• Religion - Looking into my questions and concerns within Christianity is by far the main culprit for needing a place to compile all the information I find. When I have a question or need something explained more thoroughly, the results are tabs and tabs of material that gives me a good idea, but it's spread among so many sites that it is daunting to refer back to. So this gives me a great place to collect the information I'm looking for, and to find it again easily.
• Thoughts & Other Writings - I can use this site for just about anything. This is the section I use that doesn't find into the other categories, and is typically my personal opinions and thoughts. I also post things I find that I enjoy. This is an ever changing place to look into, provided I can keep up with the writing aspect across the board!

  My Computer

When I watch a Let's Play on YouTube or read someone's article on the mods they use in a game, they very seldom tell you what computer specs they are playing with. To me, this is information that can be helpful for some people. Knowing what someone is doing with their system, and what it is capable of can be very important to viewers and readers, as I have dug through channels and people's websites looking for this information so that I know what to expect with what I have. Other people's experiences can give us a good idea of what can be replicated and where our systems stand.

I'll go into detail on exactly what is inside (and outside) of my computer, but let it be known, I by no means have a top end machine. I have Frankenstein'd mine together from parts I've purchased new and used, and thing's I've had on hand over the years. It is definitely a work in progress but it is finally at a point to where I can use it for more than just watching a video or writing an email.
